Edward Teller was born in 1905 in Budapest, Hungary. He received his doctorate in physics in 1930 from the University of Leipzig. With Hitler’s rise to power in Germany, Teller immigrated to Denmark in 1934, and joined Neils Bohr at the Institute for Theoretical Physics.
